Do I need construction experience to be a referral partner?
No, you don't need any construction expertise. TCG handles everything from preconstruction and estimating to design-build delivery and closeout. Your role is simply making the introduction between TCG and the project owner.
Is there a cost to become a TCG referral partner?
No. There is no fee, application cost, or minimum volume to join. A 30-minute call covers how the program works, and commission terms are then set in a written referral partner agreement before your first introduction.
How is the referral program different for commercial real estate brokers?
Brokers and tenant reps have a dedicated CRE broker partner program with transaction tools on top of the referral incentive: free preliminary estimates, preliminary budgets within 5 business days, property condition memos in 5 to 10 business days, value engineering, and point cloud building scans at partner rates. What information should I include with a referral?
The project owner's name and contact, the project location, the building type, and a sentence on scope are enough to start. Approximate square footage, budget, and target timing help TCG respond faster. If you are not sure of the details, send the introduction anyway and TCG will fill in the gaps with the owner.
How much do referral partners earn?
Referral commissions are competitive and project-specific. Unlike one-time finder's fees, TCG pays commissions monthly on every pay application throughout the project, meaning larger and longer projects generate more total commissions. When are referral commissions paid?
Commissions are distributed with each monthly pay application on the referred project, starting with the first billing after TCG is under contract and continuing through the final pay application. Commercial projects typically bill on an S-curve, so monthly amounts start smaller, peak mid-project, and taper at closeout. The exact schedule is documented in your referral partner agreement.
What happens after I make a referral?
TCG contacts the project owner directly, introduces our capabilities, and, if appropriate, provides a free preliminary estimate through our AI-powered estimator or a detailed preconstruction proposal. You're kept informed throughout the process and earn commissions if TCG wins the project.

How the Calculator Computes
- Total commissions equal project value times the assumed referral rate you select.
- Monthly payments spread that total across the number of monthly pay applications on a typical commercial billing curve, lighter at mobilization, heaviest mid-project, and tapering at closeout.
- Average per pay app is the total divided by the number of months. Peak month is the largest single payment on the curve.
