TCG self-performs insulated metal panel installation, the heart of any cold-storage envelope. Panel thickness follows the temperature zone: coolers around 4 inches (roughly R-32), freezers 5 to 6 inches (R-40 to R-48), and blast or IQF rooms 6 inches and up. We specify FM-rated panels and engineer thermal breaks at slabs, corners, and penetrations. Freezers still need sub-slab heating, a glycol loop or electric heat trace, because the freezer itself, not the climate, would otherwise freeze and heave the slab. The choice depends on facility size, temperature, local code, and operating preference. We engineer refrigeration in-house with our MEP team and coordinate equipment through direct procurement.

Central Texas expansive clay soils shrink and swell with moisture, so cold storage slabs need engineering from a geotechnical report, sometimes with piers or moisture conditioning. Freezer slabs add sub-slab insulation and heating on top of the structural design, so the floor system is one of the most engineered parts of a Texas freezer.
